BiographyLives and works in New York. She studied at the Art Institute of Chicago from 1945 to 1949 and in Paris at the Atelier André Lhote and the Ecole des Beaux-Arts (1949–50). While a student in Chicago, Spero was fascinated by artefacts at the Field Museum of Natural History, especially objects from New Guinea and the New Hebrides and totems from Alaska. She is married to artist Leon Golub (b. 1922 d. 2004).From the Grove Dictionary of Art
