DescriptionThe original work is a slide projection of images all photographed from a specific corner spot in London during a conversation with a specific individual about the work of the German Research Service Special Press Reports. The work was specifically conceived for the exhibition “Backstage” at the Kunstverein in Hamburg. An effort was made to get 40 photographs from one 36 exposure roll of Kodak slide film. The work is an act of composition under a state of distraction.

A new version of the work was made in Red Hook, New York in 2012 to coincide with the exhibition “From 199A to 199B”, CCS Hessel Museum, Bard College. This new version was shot on a Canon 5D Mark II. A memory card was filled while sitting on a street corner discussing the ideas within the exhibition.

The work should always show two sets of images side by side on a chosen wall or on adjacent walls projected from a high-quality slide projector. The timing should be set at a minimum of 10 seconds per image. There should not be a dissolve between the images.
