CCS Bard Collection
The CCS Bard Collection has grown in recent years thanks to donations of hundreds of works of art by individuals. These works, by artists such as Julie Becker, Martin Creed, Mark Dion, Keith Edmier, Jamie Isenstein, Charles Long, Jessica Stockholder, Wolfgang Tillmans, Rirkrit Tiravanija, and many others have been featured in exhibitions at CCS Bard and the Hessel Museum of Art. A complete set of Parkett Editions and publications now reside in the collection, comprised of 270 artworks specifically made for Parkett by many of the same artists already represented.
The permanent collection has received significant gifts from Rebecca and Martin Eisenberg and Robert Soros and Melissa Schiff Soros as well as individual and groups of work donated by Gavin Brown, Lori and Alexandre Chemla, David Dechman, Carla Emil and Rich Silverstein, Liam Gillick, Lyle Ashton Harris, Marieluise Hessel and the Marieluise Hessel Foundation, Audrey Irmas, Martin S. Kaplan and Wendy Tarlow Kaplan, Gareth Long, Scott Lorinsky, Susan and Lewis Manilow, Ronan McCrea, Barbara and Howard Morse, Friedrich Petzel, Andrea Rosen and the Andrea Rosen Gallery, the Zabludowicz Trust, and Zarina Hashmi, among others. Additional works classified under the Bard College Collection, are also managed by the museum staff and include pre-modern art of Vienna and Germany, British and American Pop prints from the 1960s and 1970s, large-scale outdoor sculpture sited around campus and more. Together the collections at CCS Bard are one of the foundations for the curatorial studies program and a dynamic exhibitions and loan program.
